Red Sox one of eight teams interested in David Robertson

The MLB's winter meetings are here. Now, let the free agent frenzy commence.

The Red Sox have already re-signed two World Series heroes in Nathan Eovaldi and Steve Pearce, but there are still decisions left to make.

Craig Kimbrel is a free agent reportedly looking for a big contract as one of the game's top closers. It is unclear if the Red Sox plan on giving it to him to return to Boston, but they have already started to look at potential replacements.

David Robertson, 33, has spent most of his career with the New York Yankees, posting a career 2.88 ERA and 137 career saves. He was not New York's closer this season, but provided solid right-handed relief late in games.

Robertson is not unfamiliar with closing out games, and could serve as a potential replacement for Kimbrel if he signs a deal elsewhere.

The bullpen was also not a strength for these Red Sox despite winning a championship. Securing quality arms should be a top priority for Dave Dombrowski this offseason.
