Report: Kalish (shoulder) out until May or June

In the last year, Ryan Kalish has spent more recovering from injuries than he would have liked. It looks like that trend will continue into the 2012 season.

According to a report from the Boston Globe, Kalish had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder on Nov. 8. Kalish also underwent neck surgery in September.

Kalish is not expecting to be ready for spring training or the start of the season, according to the report. His approximate return date is some time on May or June.

Kalish suffered an arm injury on April 21 while trying to make a diving catch for Triple A Pawtucket. The injury limited him to 24 games last season. Neck pain developed because of the injury, which led to a surgical procedure to repair a bulging disc in September.
