Report: Pats close to deal with Lloyd

After lots of early indications that there was a match between the Patriots and free agent wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, there are reports that a deal may soon come to pass.
The Boston Globe on Saturday quoted a league source who says the Patriots and Lloyd are 'close' to a contract agreement. There was no indication when the deal could be finalized.
Lloyd, of course, is very close with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels -- his head coach in Denver and his O.C. in St. Louis -- and would give the Pats the outside threat at receiver they've lacked since the decline and subsequent release of Randy Moss.
