Report: Red Sox ‘out of picture' for Edwin Jackson

The Red Sox might be heading into the season without either Edwin Jackson or Roy Oswalt in their rotation.

The Red Sox have been linked to the two starters over the past few weeks, but Roy Oswalt seems to prefer other destinations over Boston. Now Jackson may be out of the picture as well.

According to ESPN.com, Jackson has better offers on the table than the one-year deal the Red Sox have offered the 28-year-old.

The Red Sox added Vincente Padilla, Carlos Silva and Aaron Cook to the mix with minor league deals, and they also plan on giving Daniel Bard and Alfredo Aceves chances to contribute in the starting rotation.
