Gary DiSarcina will manage Triple-A Pawtucket in 2013, according to sources.

DiSarcina had been with the Angels the past two seasons. He was the Angels minor-league field coordinator last season before being named special assistant to the general manager in October, a position he also held in 2011.

Before that he had been with the Sox from November, 2006, when he was named a baseball operations consultant, until November 2010. From 2007-09 he managed Low-A Lowell, where he compiled a record of 125-99 and led the Spinners to Stedler Division titles in 2008 and 2009. In 2010 he was the Sox minor league infield coordinator. He was also on the coaching staff for Team Italy for the 2006 World Baseball Classic.

DiSarcina, 45, a native of Billerica, was a sixth-round pick of the Angels in 1988 out of UMass. He played parts of 12 seasons with the Angels, and was an All-Star in 1995. In 1,086 games over 12 seasons, all with the Angels, he hit .258 with 28 home runs and 355 RBI, playing shortstop (1,069 games), second base (10 games), and third base (two games). He ended his career appearing in 35 games for the PawSox in 2002.

DiSarcina replaces Arnie Beyeler, who was promoted to Red Sox first-base coach. The Sox still have to fill the minor-league hitting coordinator position that was vacated when Victor Rodriguez was promoted to the Sox assistant hitting coach.

Injury won't stop Brady in the kitchen on Thanksgiving

Tom Brady was back at practice Thanksgiving morning despite an Achilles' injury that kept him out of Wednesday session.

TB12 was also playing hurt in the kitchen later Thursday as he posted a photo of him preparing Thanksgiving biscuits for his holiday feast.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I wanted to say how much I love and appreciate you all for the support you have given me....

Brady's wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, also took to social media to post photos of the biscuit master and family jumping for joy to celebrate Turkey Day. Tom's rocking the Uggs of course, but watch that sore Achilles'!
