Ever wonder where some of your favorite MLB players get their favorite bats? Have you wondered how those bats are carefully crafted to the player's liking?

NBC Sports Boston's Tom E. Curran recently caught up with Axis Bats owner Lou Ledoux to learn the ins and outs of creating the world's finest quality wood baseball bats. Located right in Fall River, Mass., Axis Bats has been the batmaker of choice for several Boston Red Sox players over the years including legends David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez.

In episode one of Sports Jobs presented by Rodenhiser Home Services, Ledoux talks about how he got into the bat-making business.

"I was in the building business for a long time. I built a home for a guy who used to work for Bob Kraft. So this particular individual contacted me and said, 'Listen, we'd like to entertain a proposal to you for you to build bats for us.'

"I played baseball until I was 40. I love wood. I love the game of baseball. Let's give it a shot."
