Former Celtics point guard Sebastian Telfair was arrested Sunday for possessing weapons and marijuana found in his car.

According to the Associated Press, Telfair and another man were arrested when police found “firearms, a semi-automatic rifle, ammunition, a ballistic vest and marijuana” in the car during a traffic stop in Brooklyn.

The 13th overall pick by Portland in the 2004 draft, Telfair was traded to the C’s at the 2006 draft in a deal that sent the sixth overall pick to the Trail Blazers.

Telfair spent just one season in Boston, with off-court issues clouding his brief tenure. He was at the same restaurant as Fabolous on the night the rapper was shot, with Telfair being requested to observe a police lineup after he’d had a $50,000 chain ripped from his neck.

In April of 2007, Telfair and a friend were arrested and charged with charged with felony possession of a weapon after an unregistered handgun was found in his car. He pled guilty to criminal possession of a weapon and received three years probation and a three-game NBA suspension. The Celtics traded him to the Timberwolves in the Kevin Garnett deal, with Telfair spending two seasons in Minnesota.

Telfair went on to play for five more teams with a return to Minnesota mixed in over five seasons. All in all, he played for eight teams from 2004 to 2015 before going to the Chinese Basketball Association.
