Trevor Bauer is arguably the top free agent available this offseason, and at least one American League East team appears to be in the mix for the 2020 National League Cy Young award winner.

Bauer took to Twitter on Thursday to provide an update on his free agency process. He announced he had a meeting lined up that night with members of the Toronto Blue Jays organization.

“I’ve got a call with the Blue Jays,” Bauer said. “I’m going to check in with them and talk to their pitching coach [Pete Walker] and high performance coach [Angus Mugford] and see what they have to offer."

The Blue Jays are just one of a number of teams expected to be in on Bauer this winter. Whichever team signs the 29-year-old likely will be spending a pretty penny, as Bauer reportedly is looking for a five or six-year deal worth between $36 and $40 million annually.

Toronto is believed to be a suitor for several marquee free agents including outfielder George Springer, infielder D.J. LeMahieu, and former Red Sox center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr.
