Marc Savard was scheduled to be in Boston on Thursday to attend tonights Bruins-Canadiens game and host a luxury suite at the TD Garden for pediatric patients at Childrens Hospital Boston. The suite will entertain young patients suffering from the effects of head trauma from both a medical and psychological standpoint.

Unfortunately the Bruins revealed on Thursday morning that inclement weather has knocked down the centers plan to fly to Boston from Peterborough, Ontario, and he will not be in attendance tonight.

Savard tweeted Thursday afternoon that Brad Marchand, still serving a five-game suspension for his hit on Sami Salo last weekend, will visit with the patients in his place.

Savard purchased the suite for every Bruins home game for the remainder of the 2011-12 season and through the 2013-14 season. The suite will be complete with healthy food and goodie bags for each guest, as well as a visit from the Bruins mascot, Blades, and the Bruins Ice Girls.

The Bruins said that Savard will instead attend a yet-to-be-determined Bs game in the near future to entertain his young guests in his newly-sponsored box. When he does, it will be his first appearance in Boston this year.

It means a lot and Im glad Savard is doing it. I was hoping to get a chance to see him after the game. We all hope he takes the time to feel better, said Patrice Bergeron. Purchasing the suite and doing something for the kids is very special, and its something those kids are going to be really happy with.
