A day after inking Matt Forte to a four-year, 32 million contract extension, the Bears decided to add more depth to their already crowded backfield.

Former Minnesota Vikings running back and kick returner Lorenzo Booker agreed to a one-year deal with Chicago.

Booker, a former third-round draft pick out of Florida State, has rushed for 230 yards and caught 47 passes for 362 yards in three seasons with the Dolphins, Eagles and Vikings.

To make way for Booker on their roster, the Bears released running back Alvester Alexander, who the team signed as undrafted free agent out of Wyoming.

Joining Booker at running back on the 90-man roster in camp will be Forte, Michael Bush, Kahlil Bell, Harvey Unga and Armando Allen.
