Bears are having one of the best drafts in 2018

The Chicago Bears entered the draft with two picks in the first three rounds. At the end of the second round, the Bears had three new players ready to contribute on the field.

In the first round, the Bears addressed a need by drafting Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith with the eighth overall selection, which ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit labeled a "perfect pick." In the second round with the 39th overall pick, the Bears drafted Iowa center James Daniels to protect quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, the centerpiece of the offense and the franchise.

And when Bears fans were about to check out until the fourth round on Saturday, the Bears traded back into the second round to select Memphis wide receiver Anthony Miller, FBS's 2018 leader in touchdown receptions.

All in all, the Bears are having an incredibly good draft. Former NFL general manager Charley Casserly said the Bears, amongst a handful of other teams, had the best draft after two rounds.

Casserly doesn't specifically say the order of the teams in his tweet is a ranking, but we'll take it to mean the Bears are drafting better than the Packers... and the rest of the NFL.

Smith, Daniels and Miller could all be immediate contributors to the team. Some NFL analysts even have all three players in the top 30 of draft prospects in 2018's class. Could the Bears have potentially landed three first-round grade players in one draft class?

And the Bears tried to trade back into the first round for Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley. Could you imagine if the team at Halas Hall pulled that off?

The Bears have loaded up on offense.
