After being drafted, could Hawkeyes' Aaron White start pro career overseas?

Aaron White was selected by the Washington Wizards with the No. 49 pick in Thursday night's NBA Draft.

But he could be starting his professional career a very long way from our nation's capital.

Rather than grabbing a spot on his new employer's roster this fall, the former Iowa forward could be playing in Europe, with the Wizards retaining his rights to a future NBA career.

One report from CSNWashington.com Wizards Insider J. Michael indicates that is "definitely" what will be happening.

The decision seems to be White's, per Michael, though the Cedar Rapids Gazette's Scott Dochterman wrote that the Wizards "could push White toward Europe for the upcoming season."

White is expected to play on the Wizards' summer league team.

White's former teammate Roy Devyn Marble went a full year before making his NBA debut after he was drafted by the Orlando Magic in the second round last year. He played in the NBA D-League before appearing in 16 games with the Magic this past season.
