Hawkeyes quarterback C.J. Beathard loses trademark locks for charity

Oh my god, what happened to C.J. Beathard's beautiful hair?!?

The Iowa quarterback was known for his long, flowing locks and his resemblance to one or more of the Allman Brothers, but that's not the case anymore.

Beathard cut off his trademark look for charity last week, and he shared the photographic evidence to prove it:

Though it was for a terrific cause, it was a sad day for those of us who admired the lengthy hair that earned Beathard the nickname "Sunshine," inspired by the character who played the same position in "Remember the Titans."

It's doubtful he'll be able to grow it all back by the time Iowa takes the field in the season opener against Illinois State on Sept. 5, but Hawkeyes fans likely won't care if Beathard starts leading the team to some wins.

This season will really be a fresh start for Beathard, who was handed the starting job this past offseason, forcing Jake Rudock, who beat Beathard out for the job last season, to transfer to Michigan. Plus, you know, the new hairstyle.
