Blackhawks prospects find scoring touch as IceHogs stay hot

After managing just five goals in a four-game losing streak to start the season, the Rockford IceHogs have now scored 12 goals in their last three games -- all victories.

Brandon Pirri was the hero in Saturday's win over the Grand Rapid Griffins with a goal 58 seconds into overtime to secure a 6-5 win.

The IceHogs battled back from a 3-1 deficit late in the second period when Marcus Kruger deposited his third goal of the season. Jimmy Hayes, Kyle Beach and Andrew Shaw scored in a wild third period that saw five goals, three ties and two lead changes.

Pirri has three goals and two assists in his last three games, Hayes has three goals and an assist while lKruger has a goal and two assists in over the same time span.

Shaw's goal was his first of the season and he also picked up an assist on Kruger's goal. Beach and Ben Smith also scored their first goals of the season.
