The Blackhawks announced Wednesday that they will honor Stan Mikita in a pregame ceremony before the team's home opener on October 7 against the Maple Leafs.

Mikita, the Blackhawks' all-time franchise leader in points, passed away last month. He was 78.

In addition to the pregame ceremony, the Blackhawks will paint Mikita's No. 21 on the ice at the United Center behind each goal through the entire regular season. The Blackhawks will also wear patches on both home and road uniforms all season long.
