Bulls one of five finalists for Roy's services

According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the Chicago Bulls are one of five finalists for former retired shooting guard Brandon Roy. The 27-year-old Roy is attempting a comeback after retiring before the 2011-12 season. The Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors are the other four finalists.
Wojnarowski said "the possibility of playing with Bulls guard Derrick Rose and for coach Tom Thibodeau also interests Roy." Officials from each team on Roy's list are expected to visit with Roy and his agent, Greg Lawrence of Wasserman Media Group.
Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics have reportedly agreed on a three-year deal worth 34 million. Garnett was thought to be considering retirement, but is back in Boston and will be a solid mentor to rookies Jared Sullinger and Fab Melo, the Celtics' two first round draft picks.The Miami Heat will go hard after Ray Allen once free agency begins Sunday. The players have already begun recruiting the veteran sharp-shooter, and he is at the top of the team's free agency list.Deron Williams will meet with both the New Jersey Nets and Dallas Mavericks on Monday before deciding on which team to sign with. Reports indicate that Jason Kidd will also sign with the team Williams chooses.The Hornets impressive rebuilding phase includes restricted free agent Eric Gordon, but the Phoenix Suns are reportedly interested in giving him a major offer sheet. The Suns have 23 million in salary cap space for this off-season.Staying in Phoenix, Steve Nash believes his days with the Suns are over because the team is "moving in a different direction." On Thursday the Suns drafted North Carolina point guard Kendall Marshall in the first round of the NBA Draft.
