Nikola Mirotic's time in Chicago appears to be coming to an end.

According to a report from NBC Sports Chicago's Vincent Goodwill, the Bulls are set to trade Mirotic to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for former Bulls big man Omer Asik and a first-round draft pick.

Mirotic has been very good since making his season debut last month. He sat out the first chunk of the season recovering from facial fractures sustained when he was punched in the face by teammate Bobby Portis. Since, he's averaged 16.8 points and 6.4 rebounds in 24.9 minutes a game in 25 contests. Mirotic's return corresponded with a seven-game winning streak and a 10-2 stretch.

Mirotic was a first-round draft pick, the No. 23 pick in 2011 draft. In 243 career games with the Bulls, he averaged 11.4 points a game and shot 36.1 percent from 3-point range.

Asik returns to the Bulls, where he spent the first two seasons of his NBA career. Since, he's played for both the Houston Rockets and Pelicans. Asik is under contract for three more seasons, the third being a player option. He's set to make more than $11 million in each of the next two years.

The Pelicans, at 27-22, are currently the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
