Hold that thought.
A deal between the Bulls and New Orleans Pelicans that would've sent Nikola Mirotic to the Crescent City has hit a snag, according to NBC Sports Chicago's Vincent Goodwill.
Goodwill reported earlier Tuesday afternoon that the two teams were closing in on a trade that would've sent Mirotic to the Pelicans and brought former Bulls big man Omer Asik and a first-round pick back to the Bulls.
But things can change quick around the trade deadline.
Mirotic has been a long-speculated trade candidate this season, and he's certainly added to his value by averaging 16.8 points and 6.4 rebounds in 24.9 minutes a game since making his 2017-18 season debut last month.

Mirotic returning after suffering facial fractures when he was punched in the face by teammate Bobby Portis helped spark the Bulls to seven straight wins and a 10-2 stretch.
