Lauri Markkanen visits the Neste sustainable getaway house in Finland

Lauri Markkanen has shown a commitment to environmentally responsible companies and movements since he came into the NBA. On Wednesday he continued these efforts as he visited Finnish oil refining and marketing company Neste’s sustainable getaway/vacation house just outside of Helsinki, Finland.

Markkanen first partnered with Neste in late November of 2018. He decided that he wanted to “inspire everyone to commit to sustainable choices” to make a change in the world as part of their  #DontChoke campaign.

As stated in Markkanen’s Instagram post, he will be hosting a Q&A session (on his Instagram @laurimarkkanen) where he is likely to discuss his offseason workouts, his environmental efforts, and his life as a father among many other topics. This offseason Markkanen has been working hard on his all-around game as well as adding more functional strength.

“Just being able to get hit all the time and nothing happening,” said Markkanen earlier this offseason. It has been awesome to hear Markkanen discuss his summer training as he prepares for an important Bulls season. But Markkanen’s commitment to environmentally conscious causes throughout this offseason has been impressive as he continues to try to make a change.
