Spencer Dinwiddie launches crowd-funded bitcoin campaign to pick where he plays

What started as a simple bitcoin proposition has turned into quite a crazy crowd-sourcing campaign for former Bulls guard Spencer Dinwiddie.

Dinwiddie says he’ll let fans decide what team he plays for next, if he raises over $24.6 million on a GoFundMe campaign.

It started when someone on Twitter asked Dinwiddie if he’d delete all of his social media for 100 bitcoin, but Dinwiddie didn’t take the bait.

It did spark his imagination however.

As of Saturday morning, one bitcoin is worth ~$9,425.

Dinwiddie explained he’ll sign a one-year, league minimum contract with whichever team wins, to even the playing field and to also allow that team more flexibility to sign other stars.

But if the campaign falls short of the $24.6 million goal, he’ll donate the money to charity.

Before the NBA went on hiatus due to COVID-19, Dinwiddie was averaging 20.6 PPG, 6.8 APG and 3.5 RPG.

So would you vote for him to come back to Chicago?
