Starlin Castro and Bryan LaHair were named to the National League All-Star roster Sunday, giving the Cubs a pair of players heading to Kansas City for this year's midsummer classic.
Castro entered Sunday hitting .298 with six home runs and a .319 on-base percentage. While the latter number is a little low thanks to Castro's 3 percent walk rate, solid defense has the 22-year-old shortstop pegged as one of the most valuable members of the Cubs per FanGraphs' wins above replacement.
LaHair earned a bid with 13 home runs and an .890 OPS entering Sunday's action. LaHair, who entered 2012 with only 65 major-league games under his belt, hit 10 of his 13 home runs in the first two months of the season.
