Bears Grades: Balanced attack continues to help run game

The Bears again went for a generally balanced offensive scheme, relying on Matt Forte with small relief spots from Jeremy Langford and Jacquizz Rodgers.

Forte netted 117 yards in just the first half, with 14 carries for 69 yards and 48 receiving yards that included a catch-and-run for 38 yards in the second quarter. His fumble near midfield in the third quarter, however, was potentially game-turning, with the Bears in good field position and holding some momentum after a drive-ending sack of Oakland quarterback Derek Carr.

Forte averaged 4.1 yards per carry through three quarters, dipping to 3.6 for the game as the Raiders clamped down on the Bears’ run game in the fourth quarter, holding Forte to 10 yards on his five carries.
