Bears place Ryan Mundy on injured reserve

On the same day they cut veteran cornerback Tim Jennings, the Bears lost another starting member of the 2014 secondary.

Safety Ryan Mundy was placed on season-ending injured reserve, the team announced Sunday night.

Mundy, sidelined this preseason with a hip injury, came over to the Bears following the 2013 season and was the team's leading tackler last season. He started all 16 games and led the team with four interceptions, scoring a touchdown on one of those interception returns.

With the season-ending injury to Mundy and the unexpected cut of Jennings — not to mention the decision to not bring back Charles Tillman this offseason — the Bears secondary will look much, much different when the 2015 season begins.
