Report: Bears' RB Matt Forte could miss at least two weeks

John Fox said Monday he doesn't believe the right knee injury Matt Forte suffered against the Vikings will require surgery, but that doesn't mean Forte won't miss time.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen said Monday afternoon on NFL Insiders that Forte won't be ready to play "this week or the week after."

Forte rushed 10 times for 41 yards before exiting the game early in the third quarter. Fox did not say the severity of the injury but added this morning that "obviously there's some kind of damage to the knee."

Rookie Jeremy Langford took Forte's spot and rushed 12 times for 46 yards.

The Bears travel to San Diego to face the Chargers on Monday Night Football in Week 9, followed by a trip to St. Louis in Week 10. They return home to play the Vikings in Week 11 before traveling to Lambeau Field on Thanksgiving night.
