Report: Bears will cut ties with Hanie

Jay Cutler went down with a broken thumb suffered during the Week 11 game vs. San Diego and so did the Bears season when Caleb Hanie couldn't find success for four weeks.

Hanie, 26, will become an unrestricted free agent and reports suggest that the Bears will not make an effort to re-sign him.

In his four starts, Hanie completed 51 of 102 passes for 613 yards. He threw three touchdown passes and nine interceptions and his highest quarterback rating was a 79.9.

The undrafted QB out of Colorado State was replaced for the final two games by Josh McCown.
