Tillman pleased with Pro Bowl selection

Cornerback Charles Tillman received an overdue selection to the NFC Pro Bowl roster this week. Hes pleased.

His older daughter wasnt, at least at first.

Tillman immediately made plans for a family trip to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl but his daughter had been watching cartoons and knew Hawaiis dark secret.

She said, I dont want to go to Hawaii; theyve got volcanoes there, Tillman said.

Dad explained that those were in cartoons (mostly) and travel plans are going forward.

For Tillman, who is arguably the best cornerback in franchise history, it is the first selection and it means a lot.

Rather than just the recognition, Im more thankful that my peers and coaches thought enough to vote me in, Tillman said. As far as it only happening in his ninth NFL season, Tillman simply attributed it to the number of other good corners in the league, although he had more interceptions and tackles in 2007 than selectees Ronde Barber and DeAngelo Hall.

I guess it just wasnt my time, Tillman said.
