Blackhawks: Scott Darling gets start in net vs. Penguins

Scott Darling will start and Michal Rozsival will draw back into the lineup when the Blackhawks host the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday night at the United Center.

This will be Darling’s second start in less than a week. He was in for the Blackhawks’ 4-3 overtime decision over the Colorado Avalanche on New Year’s Eve. Corey Crawford is coming off a 34-stop overtime victory against the Penguins on Tuesday night, and coach Joel Quenneville said it’s the right time to get Darling in again.

“We looked at the game, we thought [Crawford] was busy last night and had a busy overtime,” Quenneville said. “We have a real busy stretch and this back-to-back decided it was likely Darls would play.”

Rozsival will take Rob Scuderi’s place in the lineup against Penguins. No other lineup changes are expected.

As for the recently acquired Richard Panik (visa), there is no update on when he will join the Blackhawks.
