Blackhawks send Denna Laing signed, customized jersey

There's a reason the Blackhawks are widely considered to be a first-class organization, and what they did this week only reaffirms that.

Denna Laing, a professional women's hockey player for the Boston Pride, was involved in a scary collision along the boards during the first ever women's outdoor classic at Gillette Stadium on Dec. 31. She left the game on a stretcher, and it was later revealed that she had suffered a significant spinal cord injury.

The entire hockey and sports community has rallied behind Laing and has shown an outpouring of support, including NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

To show theirs, the Blackhawks sent Laing a customized jersey signed by the entire team.

She tweeted out this picture on Friday evening, thanking the Blackhawks for their love and support:

 

 

A family friend created a support fund on gofundme.com, where they received more than $42,000 in donations within the first 24 hours.
