In stunning news, the Blackhawks announced Wednesday morning that Marian Hossa would miss the 2017-18 season due to a progressive skin disorder and the side effects of the medications involved to treat the disorder.

He is expected to be placed on long-term injured reserve before the start of the season, giving the Blackhawks $5.275 million in cap relief, but there's no replacing a three-time Stanley Cup winner and what he brings to the table.
