As the draft lottery makes news around the NBA world, the Bulls' most recent first-round pick is recovering from ankle surgery.

Valentine had issues with that left ankle throughout his rookie season and posted a photo of him in a walking boot on his Instagram Tuesday:

The 23-year-old Michigan State product played 57 games in his first year with the Bulls, averaging 5.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He shot just 35.4 percent from the floor, but was a 35.1 percent shooter from 3-point range.

Valentine figures to be a big part of the Bulls rotation in the 2017-18 season and moving forward.
