David Kaplan's message to Quintana: ‘Go out there and pitch your balls off'

It's far too early to declare a winner in the Jose Quintana blockbuster, but early returns seem to favor the White Sox.

Quintana has been inconsistent with the Cubs, to put it mildly. After beginning his tenure on the North Side with a masterpiece, the left-hander has posted a 6.00 ERA in August.

Meanwhile, Eloy Jimenez -- who was the prized prospect the Sox landed in the deal -- has been raking in the minors, hitting .368 in Double-A Birmingham.

The disparity of performances has Cubs fans on edge, which is why the White Sox Talk Podcast crew invited David Kaplan on to try and quell the Quintana worries

It didn't work.

"It's time to put up or shut up," Kaplan said. "We're in a pennant race. We're two and a half up. We're playing at home. Go out there and pitch your balls off."

Well, OK then.
