John Lackey at the center of epic toasts

John Lackey definitely didn't come to Chicago for a damn haircut. That much is clear.

What the future holds for the fiery right-hander is a tad murkier, though. After pitching six innings of one-run ball in the Cubs' win that clinched the NL Central, Lackey was at the center of some epic toasts that pointed to Wednesday being the last regular season start of his career.

We'll warn you, though, if you're sensitive to language, these may not be the videos to watch:

That's Jon Lester, close friend of Lack, saying that it's probably the end of the line for the 15-year veteran. Lester also called Lackey one of the best teammates he's ever had, which may come as a surprise to anyone who sees him as a bellicose pitcher -- whether it's towards opposing hitters or his own fielders.

If Lackey doesn't end up playing a role in the Cubs' postseason run, it's been one hell of a ride. He compiled a 3.92 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 187 wins in his career, along with consistently being one of the more quotable players in the MLB.

As an ode to big Lack's penchant for saying unintentionally funny things, Anthony Rizzo capped off the toasts by repeating one of Lackey's greatest hits in a Cubs uniform:

Haircuts are for retirement.
