Let the pizza war rage on.

Ever since the Mets knocked off the Dodgers in Game 5 of the NLDS, it's been an all-out battle between Chicago and New York as they fight for pizza supremacy.

But one New York pizzeria owner wants to make sure Mets fans traveling to Chicago for Games 3, 4, and 5 won't have to eat what he calls "doughy monstrosities that Chicagoans try to pass as 'pizza.'"

Mike Ayoub, owner of Fornino pizzeria in Brooklyn, will be handing out a free frozen pizza for travel to any fan who presents a ticket to one of the upcoming games in Chicago, taking place Tuesday through Thursday.

Ayoub also will be sending two dozen pizzas to Wrigley Field for Mets beat reporters to feast on.

"New Yorkers take care of our own," Ayoub said in a press release. "We consider this a small token of our support and appreciation for the best fans in baseball. Let's go Mets!"

Illinois and New York senators, led by New York's Joe Addabbo and Illinois' John J. Cullerton, made a friendly wager on the series, with the loser sending the winning team their style pizza and wearing the winner's apparel on the chamber floor.

The Mets currently lead the best-of-seven NLCS, 2-0.
