Road Ahead: Cubs ready for some home cooking

CSN's Kelly Crull and Patrick Mooney discuss Jake Arreita's response to PED whispers and the Cubs' chance for some home cooking in this week's edition of the Honda Road Ahead, presented by Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana Honda dealers.

After playing 13 of 19 games on the road to open the 2016 season, the Cubs are ready for some home cooking, playing 16 of 19 games at Wrigley Field.

Following a 4-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers Tuesday night, the Cubs are now 5-2 at home and of the 16 games at home in late April/beginning of May, nine contests come against the lowly Brewers, Atlanta Braves (April 29-May 1) and San Diego Padres (May 9-11).

Of course, the Cubs will also be tested with a four-game series against the Washington Nationals (May 5-8) and Pittsburgh Pirates (May 13-15), two of the National League's best squads.

The big story before Tuesday's homestand was Arreita's response to the whispers that he is taking performance-enhancing drugs that is helping fuel his ridiculous run.

But the Cubs ace didn't get defensive or fire back insults at those people doubting him, instead suggesting he feels flattered at the insinuations and admitting he's always had this potential, but "just sucked earlier in my career."
