Willson Contreras receives proof that he's having the best week ever

Willson Contreras is the best baseball player on the planet right now and Major League Baseball is taking notice.

Contreras was named the National League Player of the Week Monday after an insane stretch against the Arizona Diamondbacks and Washington Nationals.

The 25-year-old catcher went 10-for-22 with five homers and 12 RBI. He had a hit in every start over the week and also had a career-high six RBI Thursday against Arizona in a losing effort. He had two multi-homer games, but the Cubs wound up losing both of those contests.

He's been playing so well, Joe Maddon cannot take him out of the lineup right now, even moving Contreras to left field Saturday when newly-acquired veteran Alex Avila started at catcher.

Contreras has been unbelievable lately, ranking as the third-best player in all of baseball over the last month:

With his monster post-All-Star break, Contreras is now on pace for 31 homers and 103 RBI on the season.
