Adam Eaton off Saturday as wife goes into labor

Adam Eaton is out of the White Sox lineup Saturday against the Cleveland Indians to be with his wife, who is in labor with the couple's first child.

The 27-year-old Eaton, who has nine hits in his first 22 at-bats this season, was replaced in right field by J.B. Shuck. Austin Jackson moved into the leadoff spot while Shuck will hit ninth against the Indians on Saturday.

Manager Robin Ventura wasn't sure when Eaton would return to the team but said he told the Miami (Ohio) alum he'd have as much time to be with his wife as he needed.

"Just talking to him now, I let him know that he can stay and see this through," Ventura said, adding, "and Robin is a good name. It works either way. Boy or girl. It’s pretty universal."
