Dunn feeling rejuvenated after All-Star break

KANSAS CITY --- Adam Dunn carried out his plan to perfection as he spent the rest of his All-Star break on the couch.

I just laid around and relaxed, Dunn said Friday. It actually was really, really good.

Dunn, who is hitting .208 with a team-high 25 homers and 61 RBIs, said he hoped to use the entire break to rest his body in preparation for the second half of the season. The left-handed slugger requested to not play in Tuesday nights All-Star Game so he could rest. He didnt appear in the game and returned to Chicago on Tuesday night excited for a chance to relax.

Dunn has struggled of late, hitting .174 with nine homers since June 1.

I think it obviously rejuvenates you, Dunn said. Everything feels pretty good and now its time to get back to work. Its just a bunch of little stuff that happens during the season: foul balls off your shin, just kind of little nagging stuff thats not going to keep you out. Its just, four days off will help heal a lot of those little ailments.
