The White Sox placed Gavin Floyd on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow tendinitis and reinstated Philip Humber, who will start Tuesday's game in Boston, the team announced this afternoon.

Floyd's disabled list stint is retroactive to July 8, one day after he threw 7 23 shutout innings against Toronto at U.S. Cellular Field. On the season, Floyd has a 4.54 ERA in 103 innings with 91 strikeouts, 31 walks and 17 home runs allowed.

Humber was placed on the disabled list June 22 with a right elbow flexor strain and hasn't started since June 16. Despite throwing a perfect game in April, Humber has a 6.01 ERA in 67 13 innings with 63 strikeouts, 31 walks and 12 home runs allowed. Since the perfect game, opponents have an .891 OPS against Humber.
