CSN's Chuck Garfien and Bill Melton discuss where the White Sox stand now after losing three of four to the Kansas City Royals in the Road Ahead, presented by Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Honda Dealers.
The White Sox entered the second half of the season with an important four-game series at home against the Kansas City Royals, and they stumbled out of the gates. The South Siders dropped three of four to the American League's best team, and because of it, slipped back to the basement of the AL Central.
The trade deadline on July 31 is quickly approaching and the White Sox will have to soon decide whether they will become buyers or sellers.

So where do they stand now?
The White Sox will have their hands full welcoming the MLB's best team St. Louis Cardinals to U.S. Cellular Field for a brief two-game stint before traveling to Cleveland for a four-game series against the Indians. And by then, they'll have a pretty good idea of what direction to go in.
"This is going to be tough," Melton said. "I think we're going to have to pitch well and of course we can't make any mistakes because if you make a mistake against the Cardinals, they'll take care of it.
