Report: Gordon Beckham signs one-year deal with Braves

Gordon Beckham will open the 2016 MLB season on a new team for the first time in his career.

Beckham has reportedly signed a one-year, $1.25 contract with the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday, according to FOX's Ken Rosenthal.

Beckham has spent the majority of his seven seasons with the White Sox. Prior to the deadline in 2014, the White Sox traded Beckham to the Los Angeles Angels. He returned to the South Side on a one-year deal in 2015.

In seven seasons, the 29-year-old infielder has totaled 69 homers and 304 RBIs with a .242 batting average.

Beckham was drafted by the White Sox with the eighth overall pick in the 2008 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut in 2009 when he hit .270/.347/.460 with 14 homers and 63 RBIs, finishing fifth in the American League Rookie of the Year vote.
