Strikeouts lead Pierzynski to believe he's healthy

MINNEAPOLIS -- A.J. Pierzynski is convinced his right side is healthy.

But its not the 792 feet of home runs the White Sox catcher has blasted in the two games since his return that has Pierzynski convinced hes fine.

Its the ones he didnt hit.

Pierzynski homered in two straight games after he missed the previous five games with a right oblique strain. He admits he wasnt certain how his body would feel after he returned.

Theres always concern, Pierzynski said. The biggest thing was getting out there and I was worried about the swing and miss. Once I got through that -- struck out twice yesterday, everything was full bore ahead.

Pierzynskis game-winning home run on Tuesday was his 18th of the season, which ties a career high. The veteran is out of the lineup on with a planned day off on Wednesday. The White Sox originally said Pierzynski would play Monday and Tuesday and then rest Wednesday and Thursday in hopes it would allow his oblique to heal properly.
