MINNEAPOLIS -- Top White Sox prospect Tim Anderson has been out of the lineup for almost a week with a left wrist strain, general manager Rick Hahn said Wednesday.
Anderson, who plays at Triple-A Charlotte, hasn’t appeared in a game since Friday. He is 2-for-10 in two games played for the Knights.
“He’s entering the sort of day-to-day period with that right now,” Hahn said.

Anderson produced a .312/.350/.429 slash line in 550 plate appearances at Double-A Birmingham last season and stole 49 bases. He also has continued to improve defensively as a shortstop.
The hope is Anderson, a first-round pick in the 2013 draft, is ready to take over as the White Sox everyday shortstop by 2017, perhaps even by later in 2016. But with Alexei Ramirez gone, the White Sox insulated themselves by signing veteran Jimmy Rollins to a one-year deal to pair with Tyler Saladino.
Hahn also said outfielder Courtney Hawkins has been sidelined at Birmingham with a mild oblique strain. Hawkins is hitting .190 with two RBIs in 23 plate appearances this season.
