The White Sox open the 2016 season in Oakland, close it at home against the Minnesota Twins and have several lengthy home stands and road trips in between.

For the first time since 1975, the White Sox will begin their campaign in Oakland with four against the Athletics from April 4-7. The team’s home opener is Friday, April 8 as they host the Cleveland Indians for three games before it returns to the road for a six-game trip.

The White Sox and Cubs play four times from July 25-28 with the first two games at U.S. Cellular and the next two at Wrigley Field.

A 20-game interleague portion of the schedule doesn’t begin for the White Sox until a two-game trip to Citi Field to face the New York Mets on May 30-June 1. The White Sox also play three games at Marlins Park in Miami from Aug. 12-14 and two in Philadelphia on Sept. 20-21.

The New York Yankees come to town on July 4 for a three-game series. The team hosts 13 weekend series.

The White Sox head on their first three-city road trip May 26 as they play four in Kansas City, three at the New York Mets and three at Detroit. Their other three city trips include: Cubs-Twins-Tigers (July 27-Aug. 4), Royals-Marlins-Indians (Aug. 9-18) and Royals-Phillies-Indians (Sept. 16-25).

The team’s home-road split is fairly balanced over the final two months. From Aug. 1-Oct. 2, the White Sox play 27 road contests and 29 at home, including their final seven games. They conclude the regular season with four against the Tampa Bay Rays and three against the Twins.
