Comcast SportsNet will be re-airing Blackhawks Classics until the NHL lockout comes to an end. Tune in tonight at 7:00 p.m. to catch the 1991 NHL All-Star game that took place in the Chicago Stadium.

The 1991 All-Star game attracted the largest audience in its history as the Campbell Conference went on to defeat the Wales Conference, 11-5. Chris Chelios, Jeremy Roenick and Steve Larmer were voted onto the roster to represent the Blackhawks with Stan Mikita elected to be the Campbell Conferences' Honorary Captain.

What to watch for

The Campbell Conference's eighth goal of the night came from the Blackhawks trio as Roenick and Larmer assisted to Chelios who scored just over five minutes into the third period.

The Wales Conference won its first Super Skills competition in the history of the All-Star game, despite the fact most individual awards went to members of the Campbell Conference. Mark Messier recorded the best accuracy shooting (four hits, six shots), Al MacInnis recorded the hardest shot (94.0 mph) and Patrick Roy took home the honors in the goaltending competition.

Other NHL greats who played in the 1991 game include Wayne Gretzky, Luc Robitaille, Adam Oates, Joe Sakic, Paul Coffey, Rick Tocchet and Denis Savard, who played for the Montreal Canadiens at the time. And of course, the performance of the national anthem is one that will never be forgotten, performed just days after the United States entered Iraq during the beginning of the Gulf War.

In addition to being broadcasted in the United States and Canada, this game was also shown overseas to the troops to show the support they had from their country.
