Part of the reason Anthony Rizzo followed Jed Hoyer and Jason McLeod around to three separate MLB teams is because the Cubs front office officials believe the kid has all the intangibles it takes to last in this game.
Rizzo was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in as a 19-year-old in April 2008, but beat the disease and is now considered a budding leader in the Cubs clubhouse and a franchise building block.
Part of being a big-leaguer is setting an example for young fans giving back to the community. Rizzo may be just a couple months into his rookie season, but it's clear he already gets that.

The Cubs sent Luke Strotman a personal message, led by Rizzo, fellow cancer survivor Tony Campana and chairman Tom Ricketts.
Luke is special to us here at CSNChicago.com as he is the younger brother of friend and co-worker Mark Strotman. Luke is in our thoughts and prayers as he fights his own battle with cancer. He has already beaten cancer twice in his childhood, at age four and 13.
