Joliet Catholic running back Ty Isaac announced his commitment to USC on Tuesday, choosing the Trojans over fellow front-runners Auburn and Michigan. Isaac was rated by Rivals as a four-star player, the No. 2 prep running back and the No. 18 overall player nationally for the class of 2013.

As a junior, Isaac rushed 178 times for 2,629 yards and 51 touchdowns -- both school records -- leading Joliet Catholic to the 5A title game against Montini. In the championship contest, Isaac shattered numerous state records, rushing for 515 yards and six touchdowns but fumbled twice in the second half as Monitini won 70-45.

Isaac is just the fourth Rivals four-star running back to come out of Illinois since 2002, joining Robert Hughes (HubbardNotre Dame, 2007), Dale Martin (BolingbrookLouisville, 2007) and Rashard Mendenhall (Niles WestIllinois, 2005) as players with that designation.
