Lions tumultuous offseason continues with Berry's second arrest

The Detroit Lions must be happy that the offseason is coming to an end. Cornerback Aaron Berry was arrested for the second time in less than a month, becoming the seventh Lions' arrest since the team's playoff loss to the New Orleans Saints back in January.

On Saturday around 2:30 a.m. Berry was charged with brandishing a firearm and three counts of simple assault for apparently waving a gun at a group of people inside a car.

"We are extremely disappointed by the reports involving Aaron berry. We are currently gathering more information and will have further comment when appropriate," the Lions said in an official team statement.

In June, Berry was arrested and charged with a DUI after his BMW hit two parked cars. On Friday, Berry entered a diversion program, agreeing to perform 20-40 hours community service in a six-month period and submit to an alcohol evaluation.

Besides Berry's two arrests, the Lions have had to deal with Mikel Leshoure's two marijuana arrests, Nick Fairley's arrests for DUI and marijuana possession and Johnny Culbreath's marijuana charge.

With Berry's latest arrest, the grand total of police incidents involving an NFL player this offseason is 29.
