Paddock: Jimmie Johnson, Chad Knaus possess rare ability to adapt to NASCAR rule changes

Chicagoland Speedway President Scott Paddock stopped by for his weekly visit to SportsTalk Live and touched on a variety of subjects in the motor sports world. Paddock gave his take on last week's big Coke Zero 400 wreck involving Austin Dillon at Daytona, previewed an upcoming NHRA event in Joliet and explained why Jimmie Johnson has an advantage this week in Kentucky.

According the Paddock, Johnson and crew chief Chad Knaus' ability to make adjustments will serve them well with all of the new lower-downforce rules package in Saturday's Quaker State 400.

"Nobody is better at adapting on the run like Chad Knaus and Hendrick Motorsports, so I think Jimmie Johnson's going to pull it out," Paddock said.

Be sure to check out the Quaker State 400 at 6 p.m. on NBCSN. A live stream of the race will also be available on NBC Sports Live Extra

Don't forget that the playoffs begin in Chicago as 16 Challengers and the rest of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the Chicagoland Speedway . There will also be a pre-race concert featuring country music artist Brett Eldridge in the infield prior to the battle on the track.
