NIU to host football game at U.S. Cellular Field

Football will be played at U.S. Cellular Field for the first time.

According to Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune, Northern Illinois will host a football game at U.S. Cellular Field next fall.

Northern Illinois sent out a press release announcing that they will hold a press conference Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at U.S. Cellular Field for an "important announcement regarding the 2016 football schedule."

NIU Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Sean T. Frazier, head football coach Rod Carey, Illinois Sports Facilities Authority CEO Lou Bertuca, White Sox Senior Vice President Brooks Boyer and other special guests will all be on hand during Wednesday's press conference.
