Dabo Swinney could get Jesus tickets, but it'd cost $400

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney joked earlier this week that Saturday's Notre Dame-Clemson game was such a tough ticket that Jesus couldn't get a seat at Death Valley.

But for those who never turned water into wine and who want a last-minute ticket to Notre Dame's biggest game of the season, expect to shell out plenty of money to get into to the stadium.

The cheapest pair of tickets on Stubhub.com, as of Wednesday afternoon, were going for $377.94, and those are for the last row in the upper deck. The cheapest pair of tickets at the 50-yard line, on either Notre Dame or Clemson's side of the field, is going for $799.98.

"I've had a couple of people that needed tickets, and I said I couldn't get Jesus tickets, and that is the truth," Swinney said, while joking it was unfair the Pope was in America leading up to Saturday's game. "This is a tough ticket out there."

According to TiqIQ.com, the average ticket price for Saturday's game is $407, over $50 more than 2013's top-five matchup between Clemson and Florida State at Death Valley. The average ticket price for Florida State's trip to Clemson this November is $244.

The cheapest price for a pair of tickets on Stubhub to Oct. 17's Notre Dame-USC primetime rivalry game is $510, though that pales in comparison to Notre Dame's Nov. 21 Shamrock Series game against Boston College. If you're unlucky enough to have to pay for a pair of seats on the secondary market, the cheapest on Stubhub are going for $875 a seat, or $1,750 total.
